shannon trimble
My name is Shannon Trimble.  I was born on March 18, 1982 in Worcester, MA.  When I was 10 years old my family relocated to the Dallas, TX area where I remained for the next 14 years.  It was towards the latter end of that 14 years that I found a passion for fitness and nutrition and decided to further pursue that aspect of my life.

I am certified by the Cooper Institute of Dallas as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, as well as by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a personal trainer.  Additionally, I am certified by the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) as a certified nutrition coach. I have earned my CPR, AED and First Aid certifications from the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross.

I began my fitness career four years ago with 24 hour fitness and I spent one years employed as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor there. Then I moved to Michigan where I have worked at Golds Gym and One on One as both a personal trainer and group fitness instrctor.  I've worked with clients all over the spectrum and my specialties include weight loss/gain, body toning, shaping, strength and flexibility training, postural correction and pre/post natal workouts.

WHY I BECAME A PERSONAL TRAINER..............
Many clients have asked me "why did you become a personal trainer?" For me it was a simple decision. As a child and a teenager I was always very heavy. I played soccer from the time I was 5, and loved all outdoor activity but I had the appetite to back it up.  After school I would watch TV for hours and eat junk food before going to play outside. Once I hit middle school and high school I became very active in just about every sport but I was still quite heavy.  I was about 165-175 lbs and a size 13 in womens from the time I was in 8th grade to my sophomore year in college! I was very worried about my physical condition and weight. I needed to do something!

During the next few months, I  watched my diet. I started bringing all my food and snacks to work, I swapped all the soda I was drinking for water and started walking every morning or evening.  My weight slowly began to drop and my energy level began to increase. Within a few months, I was feeling great about myself and I finally joined a gym. Over the next couple years I continued to gain muscle mass while reducing my body fat percentage.  It was about a year later that I became a trainer and group fitness (spin instructor).  Then about a year after that I went to a friends figure competition, and a few people told me that I looked like I could compete someday.  I found that amusing as no way did I want to be up on stage in front of bunch of people in a 1 and 2 piece suit!  But less then a year later, there I was!  I did my first show about 10 months later, and I was hooked from the moment I stepped on stage.  I went on to do two more figure shows over the next year before making the switch to bodybuilding to finish the competition season, and I was able to finish the season with a win!  Then I found out just recently that I have the opportunity to work with Tim Gardner and represent Team Bodytech next year as I step up to the National level.

Because of my struggles with weight gain and physical fitness as a teenager, I knew that when I graduated from college I wanted to work in the fitness industry. I began learning more about fitness and nutrition and I became certified as a personal trainer. Since then, I have earned three additional fitness certifications and I have taught my clients the safest and most effective methods of exercising, while providing nutritional guidance to facilitate this process.

I have also been honored to shoot with some great physique photographers and already have more scheduled in order to keep my gallery fresh and interesting.  I have also made some extremely great industry professionals and will be appearing at some great venues throughout the year so stay up to date by visiting my "Schedule" page. Maybe our paths will cross and if they do, make sure to say hello!
